What is Money Smart Hunt 2016?

 

Money Smart Hunt is a Free, nationwide, photo based, scavenger hunt promoting financial education! Players will be asked to photograph themselves accomplishing a provided list of tasks such as "check out a money related book at your local library, "high-five your banker," or "attend a Money Smart Week event." Each completed task and photo is awarded with points. Money Smart Hunt is presented by the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. We are ready to see your creativity as you show off how financially savvy you are!

When: April 7th - April 30th

 

How to Play:

(1) Download the "Scavify" app from iOS App Store or the Android Market

(2) Open the app, create a username and password, search for the "Money Smart Hunt" and read the terms of use.

(3) Once the hunt begins you will be able to see the list of tasks to complete. Upload as you go and be creative!

 

What is Scavify?

Scavify is a photo-based scavenger hunt mobile application for Android and iPhone users. In this app you will be able to keep track of your own points and pictures, see yourself on the real-time leaderboard and see what other pictures the competition is posting.

Official Rules

Money Smart Week ® Scavenger Hunt (“Money Smart Hunt 2016”), April 7 - 30, 2016 Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago

By participating in the Money Smart Hunt 2016, participant  acknowledges that he/she is eligible to enter the Money Smart Hunt 2016 and agrees to be bound by these Official Rules.

 

1. Eligibility

Participation in the Money Smart Hunt 2016 is completely voluntary. In order to participate you must be 18 years of age or older as of April 7, 2016 and a legal resident of the United States of America. Void where prohibited by law. Employees of the Federal Reserve System and any individual involved with the design, production, execution or distribution of the Money Smart Hunt 2016, and their immediate family (spouse, parents, children, siblings and step-children) are not eligible to participate.

 

2. Sponsor

The Money Smart Hunt 2016 is sponsored by the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, 230 South LaSalle Street, Chicago, IL 60604.

 

3. Participation Period

The participation period for the Money Smart Hunt 2016 is between April 7, 2016 at 12:01 a.m. Central Standard Time and April 30, 2016 at 11:59 p.m. Central Standard Time. The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago is the official time keeper.

 

4. How to Participate

In order to participate in the Money Smart Hunt 2016, individuals must download the mobile application, “Scavify” on an Android or Apple iPhone mobile device. For more information concerning the mobile application, please visit https://www.scavify.com. Participation in the Money Smart Hunt 2016 is free; however, individual data plans/rates apply and all charges are the responsibility of the participant. A participant who attempts to obtain more than one registration by using multiple/different email addresses, identities, registrations and logins, or any other methods will void that participant’s entries and that participant may be disqualified from participating in the Money Smart Hunt 2016.

 

5. Announcement of Winners

The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago will determine the prize winners. Prize winners will be notified by email on May 10, 2016. On May 15, 2016, the winners will be announced on www.moneysmartweek.org. There is one (1) Grand Prize and two (2) Runner–up Prizes available. Prizes will be awarded to the participants with the highest point totals. In the event of a tie, the entry deemed most creative by the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago will win. To qualify for the Grand Prize, a participant must score a minimum of 1,925 points.

The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago reserves the right to substitute a prize with a prize of comparable value. Prizes are non-transferable and no substitution will be made as provided herein except at the Sponsor’s sole discretion. All taxes and fees associated with any prize acceptance and use are the sole responsibility of the winner. The winner will be required to complete and submit a W-9 with the winner’s Social Security Number or equivalent for receipt of any prize valued at $600 or more. Odds of winning a prize depend on the number of participants.

 

6. Entry Conditions and Release

By entering the Money Smart Hunt 2016, participant agrees to: (a) comply with and be bound by these Official Rules, all applicable laws, rules and regulations, and the Scavify terms and conditions; (b) indemnify, defend and hold harmless the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and its past and present officers, directors, employees, agents and representatives from and against any and all claims, expenses, costs, damages, losses and liability of any kind arising out of or relating in any way to participant’s entry and/or participation in the Money Smart Hunt 2016 or participant’s acceptance or use of a prize and (c) release, waive and  discharge the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and its past and present officers, directors, employees, agents and representatives  from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions and causes of action whatsoever arising out of or relating to any loss, damage or injury, including death, that may be sustained by participant, or to any property belonging to participant, however  caused, while participating in the Money Smart Hunt 2016.

The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, modify or suspend the Money Smart Hunt 2016 for any reason. Participant agrees that the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago’s decisions related to the Money Smart Hunt 2016 are final. The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of entries; any problems or technical malfunctions of any telephone network or lines; failure of any entry to be received; or any damage or injury to participant or participant’s property related to or resulting from participation in the Money Smart Hunt 2016.

Once received by the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, participant’s personal information is subject to the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago’s Privacy Policy which can be found at http://www.chicagofed.org/webpages/utilities/privacy_policy.cfm.

 

7. Publicity and Intellectual Property

By participating in the Money Smart Hunt 2016, participant grants to the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, its affiliates and agents, an irrevocable, perpetual, transferable, royalty-free, worldwide right to use, reproduce, edit, display, distribute, transmit, prepare other derivative works of, modify, publish, and otherwise make use of participant’s name, likeness, image, voice, and appearance in any and all media , including but not limited to, web, print, video, and audio for any purpose (“Production Materials”). The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago owns the Production Materials and participant understands and agrees he/she has no rights of any kind in such Production Materials. Participant releases the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, its affiliates and agents from any and all claims, damages, losses or liability in connection with the Production Materials.

For any photographs, images or other content that participant uploads, shares or otherwise posts as part of the Money Smart Week Hunt 2016, participant hereby grants the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago an irrevocable, perpetual, transferable, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, modify, edit, publish, transmit, display, distribute, and prepare derivative works of or other use of such photographs, images or other content. Participant hereby represents and warrants that participant owns or has the appropriate license for all of the photographs, images or other content participant uploads, shares or otherwise posts as part of the Money Smart Week Hunt 2016, and that such photographs, images or other content do not infringe on the intellectual property or other rights of any third parties. Participant agrees to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago for any losses, claims, damages or liability that result from participant’s unauthorized use of third party photographs, images or other content.

 

8. General Conditions

The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it believes to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Money Smart Hunt 2016 or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules. Any attempt by any person to deliberately undermine the legitimate operation of the Money Smart Hunt 2016 may be a violation of criminal or civil law and should such an attempt be made, the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. Any attempt by a participant to obtain more than the stated number of registrations by using multiple/different email addresses, identities, registrations and logins, or any other methods will void that participant’s entries and that participant may be disqualified. Use of any automated system to participate is prohibited and will result in disqualification.

 

9. Disclaimer

The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago is not responsible for: (1) any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by participant, printing errors or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Money Smart Hunt 2016; (2) technical failures of any kind, including, but not limited to malfunctions, interruptions, or disconnections in phone lines or network hardware or software; (3) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the Money Smart Hunt 2016; and (4) damage, liability, loss, or injury to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entry and/or participation in the Money Smart Hunt 2016 or the receipt, use or misuse of any prize.
