Congratulations Deirdre Flanagan for winning the 2012 Money Smart Week Chicago Kid Contest.
Money Smart Kids
For the last several years, a committee of Money Smart Week® partners have sponsored competitions for students to see if they are "Money Smart." What's the secret to the winners' success? Take a look at some winning essays and then set your mind to being the next winner! Watch this site as we add flyers for the District 2013 Money Smart Kid competitions!
2013 MSW Kid Competitions
Middle School: What is the difference between an investment and an expense? What would be a good investment in your community and why? Please discuss who would benefit from this investment.
High School: The price tag of a 4-year college degree has grown dramatically, making it much harder for many students to envision how they or their families could afford it. Please choose a university or college you would like to attend if money wasn't a major concern. Research and describe what an average student actually pays "out of pocket" and how much of the cost is covered by loans, grants, and scholarships. What do you plan on doing to help pay for college and how has this information changed your thinking?
Let the competition begin! Money Smart Week® will take place throughout most of the District in April 2013. You have a chance to win some scholarship money and get some money smarts. Flyers will be posted for next year starting in January of 2013. See the flyers below for examples of last year's essay questions. Follow us on Facebook(external) or Twitter(external) (#MSKid) for the latest news.
Please note: Employees, officers and representatives of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, as well as their employees and immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings and children) and household members of each such employee are not eligible.
